Excerpt from Klimt's "The Three Ages of Women"
In this painting, I wanted to explore my own connection to Klimt’s The Three Ages of Women, a piece that has always moved me with its tenderness and quiet intensity. His composition—so intimate, so protective—captured something universal about the bond between parent and child, and I felt compelled to interpret that feeling through my own lens.
As I painted, I focused less on replicating Klimt’s style and more on responding to it. I borrowed the emotional core—this sense of closeness, warmth, and unconditional love—and allowed my own palette, brushwork, and sensibilities to shape the scene. The gentle curve of the figures, the softness in their pose, and the calm surrounding them became my way of honoring the original while expressing the personal meaning it holds for me.
For me, this piece is both a tribute and a reinterpretation—a way to step into a dialogue with Klimt, to carry forward the emotion of Mother and Child while letting it evolve into something uniquely mine.
